मेक इन इंडिया अभियान के तहत भारत रक्षा के क्षेत्र में आत्मनिर्भर बनने के क्षेत्र में कदम बढ़ा रहा है। इस अभियान के तहत भारत के रक्षा क्षेत्र में शामिल होने के लिए पूरे विश्व से लगभग 500 करोड रुपए का निवेश प्राप्त हुआ है। 2020 में रक्षा क्षेत्र में विदेशी पूंजी निवेश की सीमा जो कि पहले 49 प्रतिशत था बढ़ाकर 74 प्रतिशत कर दिया गया। कुछ मामलों में यह निवेश 100 प्रतिशत तक भी है। जब यह अधिसूचना जारी हुई तो विदेशी शक्तियों का रुझान भारत की तरफ बढ़ा। अब तक भारत सबसे ज्यादा हथियार खरीदने वाला देश है। मेक इन इंडिया अभियान के तहत भारत सैन्य हथियार बनाने के क्षेत्र में आत्मनिर्भर बन रहा है। स्वीडिश थिंक टैंक स्टॉकहोम इंटरनेशनल पीस रिसर्च इंस्टीट्यूट की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार हिंदुस्तान एयरोनॉटिक्स लिमिटेड, भारत इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स लिमिटेड और इंडियन ऑर्डिनेंस फैक्ट्री को टॉप 100 कंपनियों में शामिल किया गया। इसका वर्तमान उदाहरण भारतीय नौसेना में शामिल होने वाला युद्ध पोत विक्रांत है जोकि 75 प्रतिशत स्वदेशी निर्माताओं द्वारा बनाया गया है। इसे बनाने में लगभग 13 साल का समय लगा। यह एक स्पष्ट संकेत है कि भारत आने वाले समय में रक्षा के क्षेत्र में एक बड़ा आयातक ही नहीं निर्यातक भी बनेगा।

Abstract
Under the Make in India campaign, India is taking steps to become self-reliant in the field of defence. Under this campaign, investment of about Rs 500 crore has been received from all over the world to join India's defense sector. In 2020, the limit for foreign capital investment in the defense sector was increased to 74 percent, which was earlier 49 percent. In some cases this investment is even up to 100 percent. When this notification was issued, the trend of foreign powers increased towards India. Till now India is the country that purchases the most arms. Under the Make in India campaign, India is becoming self-reliant in the field of manufacturing military weapons. According to the report of Swedish think tank Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited and Indian Ordnance Factory were included in the top 100 companies. The current example of this is the Indian Navy's warship Vikrant, which is 75 percent built by indigenous manufacturers. It took about 13 years to build it. This is a clear indication that in the coming times, India will become not only a big importer but also an exporter in the field of defense.
